Description
What does it take to take a risk?
How do we know when it is time to step beyond the familiar?
What helps us move towards what we long for, and what holds us back?
In our lives, we are constantly navigating the dance between comfort and risk. Too much comfort can leave us feeling stuck, disconnected from our vitality and growth. Too much risk can overwhelm our nervous system and leave us feeling unsafe. Somewhere in between lies the fertile edge where learning, creativity, connection, and transformation become possible.
In this experiential workshop, we will explore our personal relationship with comfort and risk through movement, art expression, embodied inquiry, and relational exercises. We will listen to the wisdom of the body, noticing where we seek safety, where we avoid challenge, and where life may be inviting us to take a small step into the unknown.
Together we will explore:
• What helps us feel grounded and supported
• How our nervous system responds to uncertainty and challenge
• The difference between overwhelm and healthy stretching
• How to recognise the risks that support growth and those that do not
• Ways to cultivate courage while staying connected to ourselves
Through movement, creative expression, reflection, and shared exploration, we create a space where both comfort and risk have a place, and where we can discover new possibilities for meeting life with greater awareness, choice, and aliveness.
Grounded in somatic practice, movement, and creative expression, this workshop invites us to explore the dynamic relationship between safety and growth—not as opposing forces, but as partners in an ongoing dance.
No previous experience with movement, dance, or art is needed—only a willingness to be curious and explore.
